Sunshowers at Sprague Lake ~ Estes Park Engagement Photos ~ Jamauri & Makencee

We experienced some few sunshowers at Sprague Lake during this cheery Estes Park engagement session. I had a lot of fun exploring RMNP with these Jamauri & Makencee!

Jamauri & Makencee

This story is about Jamauri & Makencee, an awesome go-with-the-flow couple that have a deep connection.

From the beginning, they knew they wanted to do their engagement photos at Sprague Lake. So even though we had to delay and change our plans for a snowy, winter session because of coronavirus, we ended up with a gorgeous day by lake.

It turned out perfect, yes, even with a bit of rain! That’s why we all brought rain jackets 😉

Would you believe me if I told you Jamauri & Makencee have known each other since middle school?? I loved hearing about their story and can only imagine the fun family gatherings with these two families that have known each other forever!

I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to photograph and spend the afternoon with, exploring the outdoors. Let’s hike together soon! 😀

Estes Park Engagement Photos

If you’ve ever been inspired by the nature of Estes Park, you’ll love Sprague Lake. It’s in Rocky Mountain National Park, about a 40 minute drive from downtown Estes Park.

Since it’s a very popular area, it’s best to go to Sprague Lake during the week to avoid weekend crowds. It’s tough to do engagement photos when you have to whip your mask out every  2  minutes because of passerby!

Thankfully I went to Sprague Lake with Jamauri & Makencee during the week and found a couple spots off the main trail to take photos.

Did you know that Sprague Lake is one of the 11 ceremony locations that hosts wedding ceremonies in Rocky Mountain National Park?

The small deck reaching over the lake is the perfect location for an intimate elopement ceremony with snowy mountain peaks in the background. And it only costs $250 for the permit!

What to expect from your outdoor engagement session with me:

  • 2-3 hours hours of fun romping through nature (on trail, of course!)
  • Time to relax, chat, explore, and get to know each other in between photos (instead of squeezing all the photos in one non-stop hour)
  • Collaborative direction before & during photos so you look and feel your best
  • A no-judgement zone where you can feel free to be your silliest and most in-love self
